Podiatry biomechanics appointment: Patient safety and infection control are top priorities at Valentines Podiatry. Only sterilised single-use podiatry instruments are used for all treatments and procedures. This ensures all tools are free from bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms, reducing the risk of infection. During your first visit, we will begin with a thorough new patient assessment to fully understand your concerns and foot health needs. The process includes; Initial Consultation: We will discuss your medical history, lifestyle and any specific symptoms or concerns you have relating to your feet Examination: I will conduct a detailed examination of your feet, looking for signs of structural abnormalities or gait issues. This is done non-weight baring (sat on the assessment chair), weight baring (standing up) and dynamic (walking). I may also assess your mobility and posture to better understand how your feet affect your overall well-being. Diagnosis: Based on the information gathered, I will aim to provide a clear diagnosis and explain the underlying cause of your symptoms. Treatment: Together we will develop a tailored treatment plan. This may include short-, medium- and long-term lifestyle advice, stretches, recommendation of an orthotic device such as an insole and basic footwear advice. In some cases an onward referral for an x-ray/scan may be required. Patient education and preventative care: In addition to immediate treatment, I will advise you on maintaining healthy feet and provide advice on preventing future issues, such as lifestyle changes and footwear
