A podiatrist is a medical professional who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions and diseases that affect the feet, ankles and lower limb.
Podiatrists are trained to manage a wide range of foot and lower limb issues from common ailments such as corns and callus, and ingrown toenails to more complex issues such as diabetic foot complications, and sports-related injuries.

Podiatry was given the new name for Chiropody in 1993. So no major difference other than the degree modules may have changed but most chiropodists would have continued their professional development in line with HCPC registration . Always check the register for any medical professional .
